6 Months

Wow! Where does time go? I have a 2 year old and a SIX month old, how did that happen??

Facts about Cole at 6 months:

• He waves bye-bye and hello
• He just got his first tooth (on the bottom right)
• He likes to eat anything and everything (except his bottle, he thinks he's a big boy :)) -- some of his favorites are pancakes, suckers, and bananas
• He rolls over both ways and uses this to get anything he wants
• He sleeps through the night (most of the time)
• He prefers males to females
• He ADORES Brooke and will watch whatever she is doing
• He is starting to sit on his own
• He will say mama if he is really sad or wants to be picked up
• He is a VERY happy and good baby!
• He weighs 14 lbs. (3rd percentile) and is 27 inches (70th percentile)
  

2 Years Old

Brooke turned 2 on March 18th.

I can't believe I have a 2 year old! She still seems like she should be a baby. We sure love her though. She LOVED her birthday and all the attention she got this year.

They had a party for her on Tuesday at Paula's and then Wednesday after the airport, we had all our family over for cake and ice cream.

FACTS ABOUT BROOKE:

• She's very tall for her age... she always has been (in the 90th percentile)
• She is very friendly, she will talk to anyone and everyone that looks at her
• She loves to read books
• She sleeps in a big girl bed and has to have her baby and blankie
• She talks ALL the time
• She is a great big sister
• She is potty trained
• She wears size 7 shoes and 3T clothes
• She likes to go to nursery and Paula's and play with her friends
• Her best friends are Bentlee and Macie
• She loves her Grandmas and Grandpas
• She loves animals (especially Hallie and Mac)

Grandma Beck and Grandpa Brad gave her a little table and chairs that she can draw on with dry erase markers. She loves it!

He's Home!

**I'm a little late in posting this because the camera cord was at my mom's and I kept forgetting to get it.**

Last Wednesday was an awesome day! We left for the airport about 9:30 a.m. Ty's dad was just coming in from California and called to tell us that Brody's plane was landing 20 minutes early. We got there just in time and only had to wait about 10 minutes. There were a TON of missionaries on his flight (seriously like 12) and of course, he was the last one to come. It was sooo good to see him coming down that hall though!! There were lots of hugs and tears. It took Brooke and Cole about 2 minutes to warm up and now they adore him --- especially Brooke. Brody is her favorite buddy. The first thing he said to me was, "Wow, you're skinny!" (I was 9 months pregnant with Brooke when he left) He also said it was really weird to hear Brooke call me "mom" but now it seems like they've always been a part of his life.

After the airport it was off to Freds for lunch (a LONG time family tradition). And his homecoming was Sunday. He gave such an awesome talk, you could feel his spirit and love for his mission so strongly. He is still the same old Brody, just a little more mature and a little less shy. I'm so glad he's home though!!!

P.S. He's still single :)

HELP!

I am at my wit's end with Cole. He absolutely REFUSES to take a bottle. I have tried everything I can think of... different formulas, different bottles, different nipples, adding apple juice, EVERYTHING, and still he refuses to take it. I think he has had a total of 5 bottles in the last three days. Today I had to force feed him and it took 45 minutes to eat 5 oz. He eats baby food like a champ though. Do I just give in and give him baby food all the time or do I keep pushing the bottles? I could use some motherly advice from a new mind!!
